Dow Jones Industral above 11,000

Posted by btr Wed, 11 Jan 2006 03:35:00 GMT

Looking at this five-year chart of INDU, we can see we have again approached and crossed the 11,000 line. With the base built over last two years after 2003 all year long steady climbing up, we may enter a new uptrend from here. We need to see some follow-through after breaking 11,000 with decent volume.

2005 has passed. Dow Jones ended with year in negative territory. Other major indexes were doing better.

QQQQ

Posted by btr Tue, 20 Dec 2005 00:29:00 GMT

QQQQ looks bearish. It seems that a lot of money is moving out (a lot of selling). I actually closed all equity positions in 401(k) two weeks ago, that is 100% cash. What's ahead for the new year? Don't know yet.

DOW Jones Average seems to be testing the support area.

Looking for a pullback

Posted by btr Tue, 29 Nov 2005 03:35:00 GMT

DOW Jones Industral Average pulls back a little. I expect that we may see a pullback around 10730. If you are bullish, it may be an opportunity to get on this rally at the year end.

Year End Rally

Posted by btr Wed, 23 Nov 2005 05:11:34 GMT

How much will the market continue to rally? All major markets are quite extended after going straight up for almost two months.

It's quite possible that it continues to move up, but I would sell into the strength to take some profits.

Indecision

Posted by btr Thu, 10 Nov 2005 03:01:29 GMT

The long doji indicated that market didn't make up mind yet on where to go next. We need some push to break the overhead resistence.

E-Trade (ETFC) plans to air another high-priced ad during tomorrow's Super Bowl with a repeat performance by its talking baby set to air (sneak peek). If the ad delivers laughs again it could impact E-Trade's share price next week, as university researchers have crunched data to find a direct correlation between the likability of a Super Bowl ad and short-term stock returns.
