SOHU

Posted by btr Thu, 05 Feb 2004 21:25:18 GMT

Long SOHU Mar 30 C @2.30. This is a play at major support level. If the support around 28 holds up, SOHU will move back into lower 30s.

Tomorrow is the first day BOX opens for trading. I hope the stupid cancellation fees charged by all current option exchanges will be forced to be removed due to increasing competition. There's another stupid rule in option trading, that is, you can not have 100% electronic transaction. Up to now, all exchanges require at least somewhere during the order entry process, a human involvement must be present.

Waiting to see job reports tomorrow.

China Stocks

Posted by btr Sat, 13 Dec 2003 00:47:40 GMT

The internet stocks SINA, SOHU and NTES are all at or near the major support level. The possible play may be buying slight ITM Jan calls, but they are all richly priced due to their high volatility. Holding SOHU Jan 30 Call. Closed NTES 40 Jan Calls.

Other stocks such as ACH, PTR, SNP and CHA are making big moves at new highs.

Reversals

Posted by btr Thu, 25 Sep 2003 03:29:08 GMT

Triggered by OPEC's cut in oil production, all indexes dropped a lot. Although they were above or at support levels, the increased volume was troublesome.

EBAY hit the target @56 though the intraday high was 57.2. Left a lot of money on the table due to lack of time on watching the market closely.

Long: QQQ Oct 32 Puts, SNP (target 28 and trail 2), SUNW (trail 0.3) and MSFT SSF (target 31.5 and stop 28).

August is over

Posted by btr Sat, 30 Aug 2003 04:33:47 GMT

Slowly moving August is over. After this comming Labor Day week, trading volume should be picking up as traders return from their summer vacations. NASDAQ has reached new high and INDU and SPX are approaching its recent high respectively. All markets have done some base building, we will find out wheither or not they will break out or go down. Short term wise, it looks the market will move up a little. Short: QQQ Oct 32 Put (it's not working obviously after QQQ's big run up). Long: HNP (I have been waiting for opportunity to own some HNP shares), SUNW, SOHU and MSFT (SSF).

TGIF sell off

Posted by btr Fri, 27 Jun 2003 20:39:48 GMT

Sold half position in the begining and then closed the rest for the weekend. The uptrend is still intact even after the sell off. The volume is light so it is not big deal.

Fed cut 25 basis points

Posted by btr Thu, 26 Jun 2003 01:50:43 GMT

QQQ actually went up after the cut was announced, but it closed lower. The uptrend line is still intact although the selling was little bit heavier than yesterday. Closed half position on the long. We shall see how it plays out this week.
